When to go to Sapa?
Sapa looks down on the Muong Hoa valley, where rice terraces climb the slopes and change colour with the season, from water mirrors to green to gold. Hmong and Dao villages sit along the valley floor, and the walk down to the craft workshops of Cat Cat is the gentle introduction. A cable car does the hard work up Fansipan, 3,143 m, when the cloud allows.
