When to go to Tulum?
The Maya ruins here stand on a low cliff above the sea, and the view from the temple platform explains the choice of site. Below, Paradise Beach runs white and flat, while the cenotes inland, Dos Ojos and Gran Cenote, open into clear caverns for snorkelling. South of town, Sian Ka'an protects lagoons, mangrove and open water.
