When to go to Le Puy-en-Velay?
Volcanic plugs stand straight out of the Haute-Loire, and the town has built on two of them. Red and black stone stripes the cathedral, reached by a stairway that climbs into the nave, while the statue of Notre-Dame de France crowns the Rocher Corneille.
