When to go to Cinque Terre?
The real danger here is not the coastal path but the ambition to do all five villages in one day, a plan that ends with your calves filing a formal complaint somewhere above Manarola. Vernazza's painted houses and Monterosso's sandy beach make you forget the gradients entirely, right up until the gelato bill arrives. The train, incidentally, was there the whole time.
