When to go to Chefchaouen?
Almost every wall in the medina is painted some shade of blue, which turns an ordinary walk uphill into a very slow one. Place Outa el Hammam is where it all converges: mint tea, bread ovens, the kasbah and its ethnographic museum on one side. Up in the Rif mountains, the Akchour waterfalls come with shaded trails and cold green pools.
