When to go to Bergen?
Seven hills ring Bergen's harbour, and the wooden gables of Bryggen still lean over the quay where Hanseatic merchants once traded. The fish market sells prawns, crab and salmon a few steps away, and the Fløibanen funicular climbs to a viewpoint over roofs, islands and open water. Boats leave from the same quays for the Sognefjord and Hardanger.
